Ringo

Decoverly's Ring o' Fire JH - "Ringo"
Ringo, our first Enlish Setter, joined our family in early 2002 as the family pet. All we expected of him was the gentle personality that English Setters are known for. Turns out that he has a real love and talent for finding and pointing game birds. Ringo holds an AKC Junior Hunter title and we love to spend time in the field with him on these beautiful fall days.

WOW, look at Ringo retreive this beautiful pheasant!

Fall/Winter is hunting season and our "Ringo" - Decoverly's Ring o'Fire JH - is excited to be back in the field, shown here working with his trainer Bridget Bodine at Decoverly Kennels. Our trips to Decoverly in the Endless Mountains of Eastern PA are a treat for our entire family. For Ringo, it is the equivalent of a child going to Disneyland . . . ARE WE THERE YET? HuH? HUH? ARE WE THERE YET!

Ringo competes in AKC Senior Hunter events. WHAT FUN! The photo above shows Ringo in training at Decoverly Kennels, working on his "backing" or "honoring" which is a part of the senior level test. Another great day in the Endless Mountains of PA.

At left, Thanksgiving 2004: Who has the biggest smile here? Thanks to Uncle Eddy for "letting us" take him hunting. Ringo hunted tirelessly for three hours on his first "real" hunt. He found and pointed pheasant and quail at Bent Creek.

March 2004: While on Long Island's North Fork for the Hudson English Setter Club Hunt Test, we took some time out for a brisk walk on the beach. Now if it was just a few degrees warmer . . . and maybe if the sun was out . . .
